If your state does not set specific rules regarding landlords entry, this does not mean you can or should enter a tenant’s home @ an time for any reason. Once you rent residential property, you must respect it as your tenant’s home. Provide a  notice (in writing), try to arrange a mutual  convenient time, and only enter for legitimate business reasons, such a to make necessary repairs. If it is not an emergency, try to give @ least a 24 hour notice when the tenant is most likely to be home.  Less notice, (say 10-15 hours) might be fine-for example the electrician is only available on Friday mornings. Except for an emergency, less than 4 hours notice in not ordinarily considered reasonable.  Common sense suggest that you be considerate of your tenants privacy and do your best to accommodate their schedules.
