PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE

Source: Managing & Leasing Residental Properties

By Paul D. Lapides

Preventive maintenance is performed on a regular basis to keep the level of services @ the property high and reduce equipment breakdowns & service interruptions. Regular inspections should be scheduled for the repair and/or replacement of items before problems occur. Preventive maintenance reduces the number of emergencies by anticipating the wear & tear that the property, buildings, & equipment will undergo.

Preventive maintenance is one of the most important components of successful property management. An appropriate preventive maintenance program should be scheduled for both large & small properties.

A documented preventive maintenance record is an excellent tool in selling and/or renting the property.
