TIPS OF THE MONTH/MARCH 2000

SELLING YOUR HOME

Everything about your house will be noticed. Take the time to go through your rooms "ONE BY ONE":

Take care not to overlook anything. Examine with a critical eye: walls, floors, carpeting, windows, doors, appliances, sinks, tubs, showers, toilets, counters, cabinets, closets, vents, light fixtures, switches, drapes and curtains AND blinds or shades, mirrors: Prospective Buyers will look @ everything.

INSIDE: look @ paint: Polish, wash, wax, spruce up and deodorize:

OUTSIDE: Weed, mow, sweep, prune and give attention to general clean-up issues such as stains on the driveway and garage flooring/cracks in the sidewalks, broken & chipped steps, loose railings/fencing that needs repairs or paint.

INFRASTRUCTURE: Check your heating, plumbing and electrical systems: are you able to provide documentation of any preventive maintenance during the past 2-5 years? Any updating or replacements during the past 2-5 years? Any permits issued? Examine the exterior for torn screening/broken OR cracked windows (do all windows open & close freely?): replace furnace filters: make sure all lightbulbs work:

TAKE CARE OF ANY REPAIRS, NO MATTER HOW BIG OR SMALL BEFORE OFFERING YOUR HOME FOR SALE. BE SURE YOUR HOUSE/PROPERTY LOOKS WELL CARED FOR.
